Hey, I'm gathering up stuff for this swap. The TKX input shaft is the same diameter as a T5 right? Same pilot bearing correct? Like this guy: https://lmr.com/item/LRS-7600A/79-95-Mustang-50L-Clutch-Pilot-Bearing

Same pilot bearing and Fox length. They do not (to my knowledge) make a 94/95 specific length input shaft.

I believe there is no difference, but slide the pilot bearing on your trans BEFORE you install it to make sure it fits ..... Learned this lesson 50 years ago helping a friend install a 289 in a 57 ford...... Spent over a week trying to get that trans in before we pulled out the pilot bearing and found it would not go on the input shaft...

I can absolutely tell you there is no difference. Pulled the T5 out and never changed the pilot bearing. It had maybe 5K miles on it so I didn’t go thru the hassle of changing it.

I was hoping that's the case. I'm gonna pop a new one in, but just want to make sure I have all the stuff when I get started. Probably gonna do it shortly and want limited down time.

I got the MGW shifter in. Seems high quality.

We have all done it but hammering in the pilot bushing/bearing is not a good idea... I watched a video recently where a steering wheel puller was used to push one in.. Gonna try this next time at my place....

Use a socket that matches the bearing face, give it a little lube, and TAP it in... Done.
