I went to saleen couple of times and it really is not so special...BUT THEY HAVE CAFE and bunch of cars you can't afford. Only stuff you can actually buy and walk out of there are t-shirts and license plate holders, key chains, blah blah. and they don't have anything for our cars in stock...

Everything is expensive. when i drove down there they kept looking inside my car I was like "WTF?!"

What's wrong with it being a GT? It's a MUSTANG, an American icon! Cobra, GT,Saleen,Roush who cares? Hood, bumpers and whatever else. That's all very cool, just keep it a GT that's what it is. Keep it real, and remember it's a MUSTANG!

i agree with redline and the others about the badges. i just received my saleen kit from saleen, but i have no intentions on badging it as a saleen or getting the windshield banner as i find that cheesy as well.

but i do like the cobra badges, esp. the one in the grill. before i order my saleen kit i was thinking of doing the exact same thing as the thread starter, but i decided the saleen kit looks better on a vert than the cobra stuff.

but to each his own, its your car, do what you like. lifes to short to worry about badges. the real cobra guys know what they have

still unsure but I might just go ahead and do the FOBRA thing just because I love the look but would have never bought a cobra to do what I did to the car.

we are getting ready to put a cobra front bumper and 96-98 cobra hood on our 94 gt. i personally would not put cobra emblems cuz that's not what it is. the stock bumpers and hoods on these cars look to plain.
but the bottom line is, it's your car you do to it what you want. if someone else don't like it who cares, they aren't driving it.
now, if i had a 94-95 cobra with the rediculous "mustang" rear bumper it would be gone in a minute for a "cobra" rear. why ford put that bumper on those car's i have no idea, it's just stupid.

I never saw the point of people coming on here and basing their decisions off of what other people think. If you want to do it, do it. You dont need to ask for permission. Besides, isnt imitation the best form of flattery?

Were are you getting the bashing from? I have not read any posts that indicate that. Your making it out like he posted pics of his car and everyone jumped on his ass for it being a clone. What your seeming to forget is the poster asked for opinions on this subject and people have been expressing them on both sides of the isle.

I've got to add something to this. I say go all or nothing if you plan on getting a snake emblem. I saw a stang today that had a complete 96-98 Cobra front end including hood, bumper, and snake emblems......and a GT rear bumper.

Its a free country and my car...your opinion is yours mine is mine. People can make fun of whatever they want...I would expect nothing less from a very good friend. A real gearhead IMHO does not care, its what makes the car "his". Ford may have gave me the canvas but the rest is all me. I only feel a few things in life justify the term sacred God, family, life, country. Passion is what I would call it and that is open for each one of us to define on our own.
