To DR, or to Not.

Drag Radials.

Should I get them, or not.

My original setup was planned as:

275/17's Nitto DR in the rear.
245/17's Nitto 555 in the front.

But after looking at different time slips, and noticing not that big of a difference between cars that just had the 555 and the DR, on reaction time...

Should I just get 555's all the way around>?

Are you talking RT or 60' - I haven't been to the track, but noticed a definite improvement in traction with the Nitto D/R's. In my opinion, the question would be - Do I want to replace tires every 10K or 30K (depending on how you drive.).

Eh, you are absolutely right.

I guess I was just looking for some support so I wouldn't feel that bad getting Drag Radials and replacing them after 10k. Heh.

How much do you drive your car, bro? If it's a daily driver maybe a wider street tire, like the 555 you mentioned - good wear, reasonable traction, etc. I don't drive mine all that much, so I can still get a couple years out of D/R's, otherwise I probably would have picked a different route.

Tough decision, man!

Ugh, now I can't make up my mind...

And if I go the 555 route, I wouldnt get 275 in the rear, because I would want to rotate my tires ... so maybe nitto555 255 alll around. I still don't know, I drive this car every day and put miles on it.

I'm in the same boat here, man. I wore out the stock Goodyears in 16K anyway and I'm getting the Bullit 10.5's. I've pretty much decided to go 245/17's up front and 315/17's rear, all Nitto's. If stocks wear out in that space of time, it saves money to get the Nitto 315 DR's (which will die at the same time) at $175 rather than stock radials at $250-345.

For rotation purposes get the 275's all around. I chose 275/40/17 Nitto for my fronts - should be good for the handling
