To late to think.....

It's nearly 4am, the Stang is on jack stands. I was doing some odds and ends to it and I need to adjust my clutch cable. I believe the clutch isn't fully engaging. 1st and 2nd gear grab fine. Once I get to like 4th I can be cruisin and hit the gas and the car just revs at me barely getting any speed. Clutch worn out? It's hardly a year old. It's a Zoom clutch. The clutch doesn't grab till the pedal is almost fully let out. To have the clutch engage earlier do I loosen the cable at the trans fork or tighten? Yes I have a adj cable just no firewall adj. Also ( here comes the to late to think so just bare with me) on the driver side of the engine towards the front. It's the oil something, cone shaped, juts out from the block, has a lead going to the tip...Sound familiar? Well whatever the name is the lead has broken off the tip. solder it back on? Or replace it? Sorry with the dumb questions. I'll get some sleep one of these days and ask better ones later. Thanks

IIRC, one loosens the adjuster nut (to create more slack in the cable, which is what you want). turn it one way and note if it is getting looser. :)

the latter question: sounds like your oil pressure sender (one wire and it points upward. it is above the oil filter).

new one at parts store is under 10 bucks. good luck.

i HATE to be the bearer of bad news but your clutch is toast. A bad clutch adjustment won't make it slip in 4th gear only. This time around, after you replace your clutch, get rid of that damn adjustable cable and add a firewall adjuster. You probably smoked your clutch out early from a bad adjustment.

read up on my tech article if you want a lot more info on this subject, best of luck, Jeremy
