To the 05 redesign haters:

To the people that hate the 2005 redesign, or think retro was no way to go....

Not that you are not entitled to your opinion, but...

That's not really saying much IMO, I mean I can open any car magazine and almost every car has some kind of award for something.

It's true; it's not saying much. But, at least it's saying something!

I liked those tail lights better too. I hated these ones when I first saw them, but now they are growing on me.

I like the design of the new Mustang, I just think it would look better with a Cobra R type hood and some different wheels, oh yeah spoiler delete too. That would be hot I think. Ford is making it for me to not want one.

So it won some award. Is that suppose to make me like it all of a sudden? And as sixstringthing said, every car has won some sort of award. Its like every restraunt you go into have those little plaques that say, "Best Whatever of 2003." Just because they have those doesn't mean I am going to continue to eat there if I think their food sucks.

I have a question for you, and for everyone that shares your disdain for the '05 Stang: Why the hell do you continue to lurk around this forum?

I mean, it made sense back in the day when everything surrounding the new car was just speculation. Back then, detractors like yourself could hold out hope that the car would be different than what the "leaked" information indicated. But now, we basically know as fact everything there is to know about the car that can be known without actually driving it.

Why lurk and mope around forums for cars you don't like? I despise Grand Ams, but then again, I don't hang out on their forums and whine to deaf ears. It's a waste of everyone's time. Either you like the car or you don't. Those who like it are here to talk about it and learn about it. I think I speak on behalf of all '05 enthusiasts when I say that I don't give a **** if you don't like the car. You're not going to change my opinion and I'm not going to change yours.

So what gives? Why lurk around if you have nothing positive to contribute? Nothing better to do? The car's design is a done deal. Millions love it. Your complaining will achieve absolutely nothing. I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I'm genuinely curious about what '05 haters hope to achieve in this forum.

As for your question, check my review of the car that I posted a couple of weeks back. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=499157&highlight=mustang+roundup I said I gave the car a B-, that's pretty far form being a "hater" as you said. My previous post was the make a point about how the award ment nothing to someone who didn't like the car. Maybe I should have worded it so it sounded more from a 3rd party point of view but I thought people would be smart enough to realize that what I was saying was a general fact and not something that was solely limited to myself. Why should lurkers bother you anyway? The definition of a lurker is someone who reads the forums but does not contribute. Obviously I do not fit that description since I post quite frequently. I rarely say anything bad about the '05. I bashed the Roush some when it's pictures came out but then again so did almost everyone else!

As for the reason I've been stopping in often right now is because Saleen is suppose to be releasing their version of it in the next couple of days and a few posters here have a talent for getting ahold of the pictures before they are offically released.

Not a single production 2005 Mustang has shown up at a dealer, yet Ford already has over 50,000 orders for 2005 Mustangs.

Someone must like the '05 design.

Yeah and there are 2 million riced out Honda Civics out there so someone must like them.

Mattdee1 actually said it best, "You're not going to change my opinion and I'm not going to change yours." So quit trying to convert '05 Haters. Nothing you can say can chang their opinion.

well the reason I post here is b/c it's a 2005 Forum.... nowhere on the title does it say that it's only a forum for PRAISING the 05. I've seen the car, I don't like it, If I post about it in the 4.6 forum they will send me over here.

I agree; this is a 2005 mustang site and we all have to realize everyone has their own tastes and distastes. I don't think it's inappropriate to comment negatively about the Mustang, so long as it's objective and not exaggerated. For that matter, the same applies for the people who think the Mustang is the greatest car on earth. The 2005 is not the greatest car on earth. Keep it real, for better or for worse.

For the record: I'm in favor of the 2005 Mustang. I think it's one hell of a fine automobile and I think Ford is finally making moves in the right direction. Time will tell; as will the sales figures.

I started this thread simply as an objective and independent rebuttal. It's one thing for us members to say the design is great; quite another for an independent party to say so. But, as someone else stated in this thread, my logic may be flawed. It does seem every new car touts some award or another. Besides, if everyone loved and had a Stang, it would be pretty boring racing on the street... cause I just love the smell of burnt rice.
