I just installed a Diablo Stage 3 chip. Now I hae a few questions. Stage 2 feels alot better than Stage 3. Is Stage 3 programmed, or is it reserved for future use? Stage 3 feels like stock. In stage 2 the car rev's to 6200 rpm before it shifts out of first. Is that safe? It sounds like a high pitched whine above 5500. Is it worth shifting the car that high? It feels like its outta the powerband. The other thing I noticed is that it shifts firmer, which is of course a good thing. Except around town because it feels odd having it shift hard under moderate acceleration. The fan also comes on alot sooner than it used to, another bonus. I dumped a bottle of octane booster to play it safe.

Thanks!

The stock rev limiter is set at 5200 rpm and some chips raise it to 6200 rpm. I haven't heard of anyone having problems going to 6200 on an AODE. I would advise adding some mods that will help the upper end now.

Did the chip solve your 2-3 shift issue?

Also, I remember people saying that the stock converter will start to balloon at over 5500 rpms so it might be wise to replace it with an aftermarket converter. The converter will reduce your ETs by about 5 tenths if you get a good stall and tires.

Yes, it definitely fixed the 2-3 shift issue. Thank God. What do you mean by "balloon" ?

Any idea what the whine is coming from above 5200 rpm?

Whats the 6200 shift wth in et?
