TOB or something else

Recently I thought my TOB was squeaking but lately it has gotten worse to the point where I get a high pitched squealing when slipping the clutch to go forward and in reverse. It will actually get faster/higher pitched the higher the clutch pedal is. If I hold the pedal all the way down it doesn't really squeak.

So, is it the throwout or something else?

Sometimes once the clutch engages the TOB will mesh itself and sound quite normal. What you describe is exactly what I expereinced. I bet if you remove the clutch fork cover from the tranny you will see the TOB in the last stages of desetigration.

Ewww...if it helps I drove my car for nearly 6 months from the first signs of the bad TOB...and I drive 3000 a month.

i need to get my replaced too. i got the car two weeks ago and it sounds like its just getting worse

If the TOB goes out it won't hurt anything. You can replace it when you need a new clutch.

Sounds good. It's odd because mine went out at about 30,000 miles and now it's at 45,000. Oh well, Spec 2 here I come
