Toggle switch behind wiper knob?

I have a 65 coupe im working on. While trying to determine a problem im having I came across this toggle switch behind the wiper knob. Does anyone else have this or know what it is for? I know I will probably get blasted for this but I am still learning the car. Thanks

yeah, i had the same thing on my 65. it turned out that it operated the emergency flashers. I'm pretty sure '65s didn't come with it stock, so i don't know what yours does.... but it looks the same as the one in my car.

It's shown on my '65 options/accessories wiring schematics as the hazard light switch. There should be a flasher unit clipped to the top of it.

Is it under the dash or out in the open? If under the dash my vote would be a kill switch of some kind. I have heard that you can wire up the ignition like that as a security device. Not that I have one on my ride or anything

Its completely hidden behind the dash. I had to get the inspection mirror to see it good. Going to go see what it does now. Thanks for the replies

I had two killswitches in the stang. One for the ignition (MSD box so there is NO way to get spark to the motor) And another cutting the fuel off...

My car has been broken into twice...never stolen. The second idiot left my hood open lol...Maybe he thought i took my dist cap and thought it would be easy.
