only had to remove the sway bar

I know some guys can fit the piping on with the sway bar i think it depends on the motor mounts or something i heard...I know can use a small oil filter too but im going to use a filter re-location...What else do you think i need to get..Oh yeah where is your MAF any pics of that?

You should do it. I've seen some pretty amazing results with turbo systems over the top of those crappy heads. I can't explain it. What's more, I remember one instance where the dude retained the speed density system and tune with a TwEECer R/T. I wonder if the same could be done with a more capable system like the Anderson PMS. No idea if the PMS is compatible with the SD EEC.

I thought that I've looked into it before, and I didn't think there was any tuning software that accepted the '86 SD computer. I could be wrong, though.

Awesome thread. Ive been looking at turbo set ups all day today before I logged in here. Curious as well about 2 things...where is your MAF i dont see it either and can the SD computer be tuned for a turbo?
Still running SD and looking into MAF switch since I was going to boost.

Ok i see the MAF now in the one picture you have with the bumper off...just where they tell you to put it right after the cold side of the intercooler on the straight part of the inlet tube before the bend into the fender well...Thats Were Chad form on3 told me to put it...Cool ...:nice:

glad i can help out. if you got any more questions, i would love to answer. ever fox should be turbo! :)

it is possible to keep SD, but its way better with MAF. I just added the MAF, injectors, and calibration tube and I didnt really even need a tune. Set the timing at about 8 with the spout in and go!

Really?...The shop i use doesnt have a dyno yet..he said as long as i get a good wide band o2 he can set it up until i can get it tuned so i can drive it...Iam going with 42 lb injectors..a 255 lph GSS340 fuel pump..and the Pro M maf from on3 performance set to me 42's...do you think i can get it running and drive it until its tuned?

What is that blue hose coming off the TB?..also how do you have your PCV run?...are you using one ?

The blue hose is going to the wastegate. its supposed to only see boost so it should be before the throttle body. There was no nipple on the turbo like usual. I have the whole vacuum system changed on the car. I got rid of the vacuum Tee and just ran each nipple on the intake to something individually. One goes to the brake booster, the other to the BOV, last big one to the PCV, and the 2 little ones to the FPR and boost gauge.

Also, on the line going to the PCV valve, i have a really good checkvalve that closes off under boost. On the other side i have a little catch can. So under vacuum, its pulling oil vapors and catching them, and competely closing off during boost. The stock PCV valve leaks under boost, so that took care of that. I obviously put a breather on my oil cap, and recently drilled a hole in the other valve cover to vent more oil vapors. A pressurized crank case is one of the main reasons boosted motors blow.

As long as you set your timing between 8-10, and have a supporting fuel system running at least 93 octane, and a wideband showing good air/fuel, you do not need to tune it. I just got mine tuned for hp. I picked up about 30hp by getting a good tune. As you can tell by my video, I pretty much went sideways out my driveway when I got my car done. Blowthrough setup is sweet because the MAF is setup like N/A and it just tells the EEC to dump in fuel when it sees a ton of air.

Am i going to have to do that too with the waste gate line?...Where did you get the check valve from i hear thats a good way to do it..I was thinking getting rid of the PCV all together and vent both valve covers to a catch can.....The shop that my car is at the guy does just mustangs for yrs now he has a 06/07 mustang there now that is compund boost and turbo and supercharger and he has no problems getting that to run right so im sure he can tune my car decent for street use he did say get GOOD wide band A/F gauge which one do you have...Maybe one day we can chat on the phone maybe it would be better then typing....LOL.....:rlaugh:

as long as boost gets to the wastegate it will be fine. the check valve came from grainger. the wideband is AEM, they are on sale right now only $200.
