Thanks! Its the HD hero. It had the waterproof back cover on though, so the sound came out pretty quiet. Ill have to try the one with the exposed mic. Ima try taking a video with it on the outside of the car!

yeah I just watched video bout the Go PRO on youtube. would not use the waterproof cover for anything since I dont surf or ski. It did sound a little muffled b/c I figured it was b/c of the case. Whats the difference between the HD Hero and the Motorsports one anyway?

Dude, that kicks arse. I love the possibilities with those GoPro cameras. I went snowboarding last weekend and every other kid up there had one on their helmet. I thought, man I would love one of those, but realized it would just way too boring watching myself lumbering down the hill.

Anyway, I would definitely try to improve the sound quality on that. Try to fab up a mic muff for it if you put it on the outside. I want to hear those turbos in hi-bitrate lossless audio

I always wanted to put something like that under the car to watch the 4-link rearend bind/flex all over the place.

I didn't realize you put turbos back on there or I forgot, my memory sucks. Kicks ass though. I have pondered one of them cameras as well. i figured with my stangs, truck, and firefighting stuff it would be pretty cool

FWIW - There's some good tips and info about the different GoPro video cameras and mounts over on youtube by a guy (company) with the name "eyeofmineGoProHDHero" - his channel link:

He also sells additional rollbar mounts, which could come in handy for those who need a better in-car mounting solution for the track, etc - I have no experience with his products, but thought some folks in here might be looking for something similar. His video reviews are pretty informative.


I picked up a GoPro Hero Motorsports kit recently over x-mas; can't wait to put it to use in the spring after "winter hibernation."
