What tool do I need to get the bolt/screw/plug thingy off the oil pan? It was really hard to reach with our regular wrenches.

) or on the side, but very close to the bottom, so how is it hard to reach?

I guess the next question is, where were you trying to reach it from? It really shouldn't be too hard.

The best tool there is. The harder you swing it, the more fixed it gets.

I have done many oil changes, from my understanding you take a wrench or socket and turn the bolt counter clock-wise. Maybe you need to lift the car up a little if you cant reach it. cuz you cant to an oil change on a mustang while its on.
Its the way ive been doin it for years, its a very reliable way of draining the oil, unless you want to flip the car which i dont reacomend Thanks for the laugh man.

Too many Replies .... hurting my brain
1. Change Oil?? Wont they Automatically take care of that when I turn my car in at the END of the 4 year lease??? or,
2. Warning: make sure the car is in Park before starting, and never REV engine above 4300 RPM when draining oil out of the engine (Higher RPM will cause oil to drain too quickly). or,
3. Hammer and ScrewDriver .... pound a hole through the bottom of the oil pan ... let the oil drain out. Use 3 sticks of bubble gum to plug hole before refilling. Note: new hole must be at least 1.5" from previous holes to ensure structural integrity of the pan. When too many holes in bottom ... get new pan. or,
4. Ask your husband to do it for you.
5. If a guy asking this question, see answer 4 above.
