Top 10 here I come...project started!!!

Here is the first major piece to my quest for a top 10 spot with my '87 Fox body....

Dart block 331, Eagle forged crank and rods, JE pistons, huge Comp hr cam, AFR 205 heads, Crane rockers, Moroso pan, etc. This will be sitting along side an HP Performace 76mm turbo kit, Lentech built 4R70W w/ trans brake, and chassis complete with a 10 point moly cage!!!

I will post some pics of the cage as it is being done and some of the other goodies soon.

Looks good so far. It is harder and harder to secure a top ten spot, as the stangs in the NW are getting much faster. With the components you have, you should definitely get in the current top ten. I'll be curious to see who completes their current builds for next year...

Naturally aspirated cars that run hard are fantastic, but there is something about building a turbo set up that you can run on pump gas, only using 60% of the motors cabability and be running fast.

Stock5.0, that great motor you built for the car is now one of the coolest 12.5 second "smog" motors ever!

This motor was built by Steve Petty at Proline Engines in Georgia. I got lucky and found the motor with 1200 miles on it.

Chromoly cage huh? Make sure the guy that’s doing the work has a VERY good grip on the metallurgy involved in this. Welding 101 doesn’t cover dissimilar metal joining and all the heat related issues that chromoly has...

This guy builds full tube chassis race cars. With all his experiece I am not worried one bit about whatever you were concerned about. I was over at his shop the other night and the cage is looking good.
