I have a 2000 GT vert. My top is starting to rip right where it meets the top of the backglass in the rear curtain. I'm considering patching it with a rubber tire patch but don't know if it will hold due to the constant folding at this point everytime the top goes down. I'm sure this is why it's failing in the first place. Ford should have reinforced the area. Anyone know a way to fix this or get a rear curtain without glass for cheap? The OEMs are spendy. I'm not concerned about looks as this area is covered by the top.

I've been searching for replacements and can only find peices with glass or vinyl already in them. I'm assuming the glass cannot be transferred as it appears to be glued to the curtain. I don't want to spend $450 for a new curtain to fix a damn 2" rip on good glass.

What's a brand new top cost? You might have to replace the entire top. What's it cost to purchase and install a new top?

I thought I saw some replacement tops on Ebay for roughly 150-200 bucks brand new.

You can buy tops for around $170 from reputable places.

Im pretty sure the rear curtain is a permenant piece of the glass.
