Torque box - Shoulda bought a 2 piece

I did this a couple months ago, getting the old torque box out was !$%#@&* hard. I didn't cut that flange off though, I drove the torque box out the bottom of the car after all the spot welds were drilled, and I had cut up chunks of the rotten metal. Also, I had to remove a little triangular brace that connected the front of the torque box to the frame rail up near the wheel well (this was on a 69, a 67 might not have it).

I didn't have any problems getting the complete torque box in though. But the complete box has a flange that is visible after the install that the original didn't show. I would hope that the 2-piece box has this flange correct. I would have used a 2-piece for this reason alone.

By the way, if you are replacing the rear fender aprons, replace them BEFORE you put in the torque box.....Don't ask how I know!

I just finished putting in my passenger side torque box. I bought the Dyancorn brand which is in two pieces and it comes with a Gusset. I had to grind a little to get the first piece to fit in right and use a jack to push/hold it in place for the second piece.
