SO how many of you guys with power adders that run sticky tires have your boxes done up? And if you do did you just weld them or did you reinforce with plates? I'm really concerned about mine because supposedly previous owner ripped them out and they look like they were just spot welded back in. I'm putting a 125 shot to the car and plan on runnin a M/T drag radial.

im curious about this as well. been thinking about just welding them up. anyone with this done wanna post up some pics as well?

Just my opinion but the reinforcement kits really only need to be done if you tear the boxes. Otherwise simply seam welding the factory torque boxes is just fine. I've seen cars making upwards of 700RWHP with seem welded boxes and no problems. Here is an article I wrote on them.

exactly what i was looking for. ill be welding my seams and axle tubes very soon! sure is nice having a lift and a welder lol.

+1 same here. I welded mine up before I knew how to weld, so they are pretty gross, but I run an IRS now so it doesn't really matter

Thanks. I'm just trying to somebody that will do it for relatively cheap since Welding is the one thing I am not very good at.
