Torque converter locks up/engages around 15-20 mph instead of around 40 mph. One specialist believes this may be due to a computer calibration problem? Any ideas?
Not sure what all of the numbers mean and I probably should have mentioned that it is an automatic. The mechanics that have actually driven my car have said that they feel the torque converter engaging way too early. One of the transmision specialist went as far as saying he thought this was happening because the computer needed to be re-calibrated or updated.
I think we all knew that it was an automatic with the reference to torque converter and the U4P0 PCM. My query was more directed to Mustangless for what the numbers were telling us.
Almost. While not stated it appears that the TP reference is volts. You did note that closed TP volts=.95ish. Since that is the minimum what do the zero values represent. In my case the reference is TP% but that is a calculated value from the TP volt range (min to max). But I do get the picture.
