Who buys a full size truck with a V6 these days? Ford doesn't even offer a V6 in the F150 anymore...It's not the days of the workhorse torquey straight sixes of 25 years ago...
im pretty sure my friend just got an 08 150 with a 6, but i could be wrong. either way i agree with you, the straight 6 f150's ruled
Yes you could get the 4.2 up to 2008 in the F150, but the new 09 offers the 2v 4.6 as its base engine, the 3v 4.6 optional and the 3v 5.4 is the top choice
I still think that Ford's 300ci 4.9 straight six is among the best engines they ever made. My dad had one in a 2wd 81 F150 with a 4-speed...that truck was a TON of fun and it did far more work than it probably should have. The modern generation of V6's can't hold a candle to the I-6 of years past.
