TP sensor

whats all involved in replacing my tps on a 93 mustang 2.3 to me it looks like i need to remove my throttle body just wondering

you don't need to... Just remove the 2 screw on the TPS and voila!

ok looks like a real tight fit almost like my egr is in the way and like the iac would be in the way to. but thank you for the input.... do i need to calibrate the tps or anything like that? or does it just drop back in?

You will need to calibrate it, at .94-1V at idle, or just make a "mark" near the screw, just to remember where it was..

how would i read that my buddy has a snap on scanner but it dont give me the status for sensor output so im assuming a volt meter but what wires would i tap in to

There's three wires going to the TPS. One is the ground wire, one is a 5v reference, and the other is the signal wire. (Use a straight pin to backprobe the wires at the connector. Take readings off the pin). The signal wire is the one used for adjustment; it'll have less than one volt at idle with the key on.

A good TPS will have a smooth transition from (about) 1v-4v, on the signal wire, when the throttle is advanced. If voltage is erratic or spikes, then the TPS is bad.
