How do you know if your TPS is bad?? The reason i ask is because i reset mine on the w/e to .98-.99 (it was at .88 previously)and my car seems to studder when accelerating slowly.I'm not sure if this is just coincidence or what. One thing i did notice is that the black wire seems to be exposed as if its been pulled out of the actual sensor.

Check the wire you think is bad. You should see the meter reading change during a wiggle test if it's corrupted.

In general, I'd have left the TPS alone - you were real close to the optimal reading anyhow. I wont debate the ratcheting ability vs people who want to set the TPS to a given static reading. In general, I don't recommend touching the TPS unless it spits a code, has a wiper issue or is touched to deal with a surging issue.

MHO.
Good luck.
