tps voltages?/ help having a brain fart

hi
i just did a read out of my tps as stated elsewhere.
koeo .88v koer 1.05v but at,
koeo .99v koer 1.45-50v
for the first one its to spec but when trying to achieve .99v koeo its goes out of spec with koer, bad tps?
has anyone ever associated this with a hunting idle when cold?
any advice will be greatly appriciated!
sorry i double posted cant seem to erase the second one anyone know how to do this?

Where are you measuring your potiental difference?

Read on the wires on the tps.
What is the Vref voltage engine off? Engine on =?

If there is a significant delta then I would suspect an aging regulator circuit.

0.88 vdc engine off is fine, no need to bump it up to 0.99....this is a myth that keeps propegating itself due to EEC-IV ignorance.

The most signifficant problem with a mis-adjusted tps is you will smell a rich gas smell (at idle). The computer thinks your on the gas and is enriching the a/f ratio.

Hunting idle when in open-loop mode most commonly is a vacuum leak.

...oops

...or check for a dirty IAC valve. Don't forget to reset the computer once adjustments are made.

A proper idle will run without the IAC.

Years ago I had a lumpy rough idle the would surge and hunt and it turned out to be a heat rotted vacuum hose under the upper plenum. It would leak (un metered) air depending on road vibration, temperature and so-on. If I touched the hose the idle went up 500 rpm's.

thanks for the reply.
I checked my readings today with the engine cold. I reset it to .83v koeo and .92v koer, but here is something I found. I pierced the wires on the sensor and attached the multimeter, with the koeo and koer the volatages were the same no change but when I placed the ground probe to battery ground the voltage when to .93v koer, any ideas I having a brain fart over this.

Always use the black/white wire to check the TPS voltage. This is the ground reference the computer uses. The black/white wire and power ground connect inside the computer. The computer uses the black white wire for signal ground to insure a quality ground reference. This makes sure that there is no electrical noise or voltage drop from bad or missing connections on the engine block to the chassis ground by the battery.
