I pulled the old third member off tonight and set it next to my new trac loc unit. Should I be able to tell a difference by looking at them... cause they sure look a lot alike! I'm hoping I didn't get ripped off on eBay.

Will try to sneak home and take some pictures at lunch today. It is supposed to be a Trac Loc unit with 3.55 gears.

The short answer is yes, they are easy to tell apart.

From there, navigate to Info > Ford 9-inch Rear end Info > Differential types. There are pictures of an open carrier next to a T-Lok.
