Well finally time to see what car is faster. Been coming for about a year now. when i bought the car. he runs consistent 12.2-12.3 with a 1.7 60ft time. evo has cams, tune, full exhaust, and intake. my previous best was a 12.9 now i got drag radials, cobra manifold, mass air, headers. we raced on a closed road and i beat him by 2 car lengths. he said he was on 91 octane and boost was at 19psi. he will be on race gas and 22psi. going to be a good race i hoping to take him with reaction time and driving ability too. since it will be a heads up race to the finish line. where reaction time will count. is it wise to put in some race gas and run a 125 shot instead of the 100? or is that pushin it?

How bad do you want to win?? I would try the 125 shot and do some of the little tricks to help out. Remove that front sway bar and with the race gas you may be able to slightly bump the timing. The sway bar alone is worth a shot since its so easy to remove. I run the same nitrous system and 125 seems to be working for me. Is it a dry or wet kit?? By the way my time listed at 12.5 is on street tires, it will be close.

i wont get discouraged on the launch. we race each other a lot. and before the radials he would jump all over me. that damn evo has a rev limiter that stock is set at 5k but with his tuning its moved to like 6200 and launches at that everytime. with my 3k launch my front bumper was at his back bumper. so its not to bad on my drag radials. then by the end of first we are pretty much even. then i pull him down the track but again he was a 19psi on 91 octane. he will be at 22psi on 110 octane.

i say up your jet sizes for spray .....
if your racing at a well prepped track you will not be far behind on the launch .

yes they can launch off the rev limiter and hook on the street but our cars can get off the line at the track .

go get em ....btw i sprayed a 150 dry shot on stock junk

I ran a 150 wet setup on a stock motor with no issues. Up it and dont worry.

If the helps my best friend is running a 225 shot on a stock motor with a cobra intake and cam and no issues for 2 years.

on the 100 shot i get scared lol. the car smells funny when i spray

it's just your burning better , remember to shim the reg if you go 125 (is it a dry shot?)

don't go higher than 100 octane, and then you can probably time it at about 12*-14* if it's cool out

otherwise just stay 10* and 100 shot

100 is PERFECTLY SAFE ... don't even sweat that you should be good for 12.40-12.50 maybe 12.20 on the 125

but practice b4 the run, if you use race gas...make sure you get it timed where it wants to be

i squirted 100 shot on 14* timing once and it was fine...cool out though about 70* and no humidity

yeah the good news is he took the car to the track with the complete setup with his cams and race gas and 22psi and came up with the same 12.2@112

higher octane + same timing = less power....it took 22psi just to run the same...shoulda saved the $5 / gallon on the gas

w/ that psi he will smoke his clutch and everything else soon.....
