Track time update... new "street trim best"
My family and I attended the SSOTN Spring Nat's this weekend and raced both my dad's and my car. I looked forward to this event all winter and made a lot of little changes to see how low in the 12's I could get. I couldn't wait to try out my new skinnies! Well, at 4pm on friday I realized I lost my wheel lock key which meant I wouldn't be able to put my skinnies and my ET streets on which absolutely ruined my mood. Well, on saturday I didn't feel much like racing, but since I was there I figured what the heck. I haven't run my car in 100% complete street trim in a LONG time as I was going for all I could get out of it, but on the first pass I figured I'd give it a try. I didn't remove anything from the car, nor did I run with a shortbelt. I had very low expectations as to what kind of times I'd run on my brand new 315-35-17 Nitto DR's. I lined up, smoked the crap out of them, and launched... to my surprise they hooked and I managed to rip off a 12.56 @ 109.11 which is the best the car has ever run in the way I run it on the street. Previous best was a 12.70 at 107. This quickly changed my mood and I yanked the pass seat, put the shortbelt on and went at it again. I made a lot of passes and manged to run within .02 of my previous best with a 12.33. The 12.31 in my sig was run in 20-30* cooler temps and on ET streets!!! I was in utter amazement! I cut a best of 1.66 60' with a few 1.68's too... this is on freaking nitto DR's!!! Also, I was DEAD ON with my RT's. I finally cut my first perfect light with a .000 on a run against Bob (Rel3rd), then I proceeded to have .000, .018, .047, .062, .034 lights!!! I love the LED system! My MPH was a little off, but I think I had too much timing in the car, my best MPH was a 110.08. I forgot to take some timing out from when I ran it last which was November. I know this is the case because everytime I run too much timing I run a better 1/8th with a slower 1/4 trap speed. My best 1/8th was a 7.86 with a best mph of 87.36.
All in all, I NEVER thought I'd be as close to running my best on nitto's. That made my day. I can't wait to see what I'll do with the skinnies, no sway bar, and more weight reduction.
Also, my dad ran a new best in his NA 91GT. He managed a 11.95 at 115mph!!! He's been chasing the 11's for almost 3 years and finally did it! I'm so proud of him!

Those rims really bring out your car. 315s make any car look mean as hell!! I can't wait to get the money to get the rims I want so I can put some 315s on mine.
