alright... well i raced my 1983 GT the other night and I was dissappointed. I know i should do better on my 60' times, but i was expecting low 15s.
heres my best run
60'... 2.423
330...6.728
1/8...10.302
mph...69.01
1000...13.383
1/4...15.992
mph...86.52

shifts @ about 5100

i was on street tires, and went around the water box, it was my last run of the night just after a 30 minute break but i'm pretty sure there wasn't crap stuck to my tire. Any tips would be great. Next time i race i should have long tubes, x-pipe, and dumped flows (maybe).

The car is completely stock, i've found that the car is only supposed to have 175 hp and 265 lb/ft. i punched my speed into a calculator and found i was getting about 190 (i know the calcs aren't exact). hopefully if i can learn to get good 60' times I'll do much better.

83's arent that quick... get a 4v carb for it
try bumping the shift point to 5300
dropping the 60ft will help ET, but not MPH..
and there's always crap on the tires.. pebbles etc .. thats why I always spin mine for a sec or 2.. NOT in the water... to clean the dust off..

If I'm not mistaking he does have the 4V carb, and that's not too bad considering it is bone stock. Just practice, practice, practice you'll get better at it.

Yeah, thats not too bad for an 83 GT pretty much bone stock. Don't they have single exhaust as well? I'm pretty sure stock they're in the 16's so you're not doing too bad
