the stock tubes are just pressed into the pumpkin and tack welded. High torque/high HP applied violently to the rear end can tweak the tubes out of perfect (hopefully) alignment. Cocks the axel in the carrier and causes failures.

What have been your experiences?

None of mine personally. A friend of mine with a basic, stock rebuilt 306 with P-heads and oversized valves bent the axles on BFGs. A witnessed a guy bend his so bad in his Fox body that it tore up the posi. I have no clue what kind of engine work was done. I was too busy marveling at how much damage he did.

Not in my experience, but in others - Paul in his "underpowered" 29x horsepower car bent his. Paul's Dad bent his. Paul's friend bent his.

After being an eye-witness to several failures and talking to people on here who have had more experience with failure, the little voice in the back of my head tells me that something isn't right...

It seesm the "DRAG" axles are good, but their SS axles are JUNK. They fed me a line of BS. I called and spoke with them about the car, its power, weight, gear rations, etc and that it would be drag raced. They told me the SS (they actually told me it stood for street/strip) axles were exactly what I needed, and having heard good things about strange I went with them. I went to the track and made 4 passes, and I didn't even launch that hard. The next day I was driving the car and when I got out the rear wheel had smoke coming from it... the axle bent so bad that the rotor was hitting the caliper bracket. I measured it and it was out ~25 thousandths. My dad had been having vibration issues in his car with his strange axles and we decided to chekc his... they too were bent. Well, at the same time my buddy Mike had a set installed in his '01GT 'vert. I decided to call and tell him what we were experiencing and guess what he tells me... he had a vibration since his last time out at the track. So he checks his and sure enough they were bent. My dad and I were both so pissed we just bought new ones, whereas Mike sent his back to strange and they said that there was a problem with the axle and they sent him a new set which he promptly sold and installed a set of superiors. Superiors are warrentied for 5yrs, so if I bend these bad boys they are covered, and I made sure of it before I bought them. Before I bought the superiors I called Moser, Mark Williams, and a few others that I can't seem to think of right now and the guys at superior convinced me their's were better. Sorry for going OT Jake.

Interesting. I guess their QC has gone to hell in the past decade or so. Pity.
