Hello it has been a while since my last post. I am so very frustrated. I have installed a ZEX nitrous kit on my stang. Before the install, I was running around a 13.5-14.5 on the track. After the ZEX nitrous kit install, my times have consistently been worse, with the exception of a few quicker 13.2's and My best time was a 13.17 @108.2 on the track (1/4 mile).
So today I went to the track for a raceday. And I was VERY dissapointed. The daytime high was 78 degrees and sunny, so the track was either REALLY slick or something. I literally lost traction 5 times today to the point where the car went sideways and I had to let off the gas to right it back up. Horrible times compared to normal. I would shift into 2nd or 3rd and the car would start to shift sidewayson the shifts. Is there too much going to the rear wheels when you are sliding around like that ?
Would anyone agree that there is too much HP going to the tires? Would better or wider tires keep my stang from sliding around? I have 18's with 10 inch tires on the rear. I am happy with the nitrous...it hads noticeably more horsies on the highway or roads when I want to get on it. But on the track it sucks. Too much HP to the tires.
I am thinking about just going to a supercharger and putting slicks on it. This is a serious thought, BTW.
