Ok guys I have done some searching and I didnt see anythign that really answers my question on this.

On my 2003 GT the traction control works fine, but I am curious if anyone can explain to me how it works. I am curious about this because with the traction control on you can here the rpms wind but you dont feel the car move so I imagine that is part of the process but how is it controled at the clutch or in the transmission itself?

I think....

Maybe I can answer some of your question...

From what I've heard, traction control cuts the fuel to your engine ( or maybe only some of it) when you hit the rev limiter. Also the brakes automatically apply to the spinning tire so it won't keep spinning i think.

Like I said, this is what I've heard happens. I could be wrong!

If it senses a little slip (one wheel spinning faster than the other) it will apply a light braking force to the slipping wheel so the opposite wheel will turn more. If it senses a lot of slip, it cuts off the spark.

Seems all too complicated... I thought that they would have used a simpler system but in any case I do appreciate the info. Thanks guys.

When I forget to turn it off at the track (road race course), it applies rear brake to the spinning wheel. It does work good and would help in rain condition. I wish I could turn it off and leave off until I want it back on.. Suck when you forget to turn off and go out on the track.

Read the manual (not trying to be funny or anything) it will tell you.

It cuts some of the fuel and applies a little braking power if I can remember it
correctly. Sorry, but I read the manual while driking.

I hate traction control.

Just take it off and launch, if done correctly(limited wheel spin) you will feel like its a new car.
