i've been hearing a noise coming from the rear end for about a month now.decided to replace the axle bearings, seals, and clutch packs.when i pulled the passanger side axle, there were a couple of good sized scuffs where the axle rides on the bearings.i'll get a new axle tomorrow.i installed the bearings and seals already.my question is,how do i install the clutch packs.i done a search already.what i found was to install in this order. .035 shim,1 used friction disc,1 splined steel disc,1 new friction disc,1 splined steel,1 new friction disc, 1 splined steel,1 new friction disc, side gear.does that sound right?is it the same for both pass and driver side?

got the rear end togeather today.that s-spring was a b****.it's been a week since i last drove my car.had the tranny rebuilt,i installed the new axle bearings and seals along with the clutch packs.

used the ford racing kit--does not come with tailshaft bushing,if you use this kit, order a bushing at the same time.

used royal purple fluids tn both tranny and rear.feels good to be back in my car and out of the civic.well, now its time to go to work

working on my car is something i enjoy,so i cant complain too much.for the spring,i used two needle nose vise grips to compress the spring, then used a small hammer to tap into place.
