Traction? or should I say lack there of

I know my 255/45/17 fuzions are junky tires but the lack of traction from my 05 GT is crazy. I have BMR billet lower control arms and relocation brackets as well as a CHE control arm brace with torque limiters but that is all I have for suspension mods. Can anyone help me get my pony doing more than putting on a cool smoke show for everyone?

My car also like to kick the passenger side out every time I do perform a burnout, any ideas there?

Well, you could always learn to drive. I've found that helps a lot.

What notch do you have your relocation brackets on. If you have the rear of your control arms too much lower than the front, that can cause an adverse affect.

really, I didn't know that...I have them on the bottom of the two holes to pick from. Should I move them to the top of the two?

When do you lose traction? I let the clutch fly this morning from 4K and smoked my tires..power shifted 2nd and spun the car around 180degrees without wanting to but, If I'm just taking off I eas the throttle and she's all good even power shifting the gears.

Without having any lowering springs, you should definitely not be using the bottom holes. The rear of the LCA should be just a few degrees lower than the front for a daily driver.

My traction problems started when I put the 3.90 gear and aluminum flywheel in my '05 GT. Now that I have exchanged the '05 for an '08 GT500 the lack of traction has gotten MUCH worse. Please tell me how I can drive better.

You are driving on plastic tires. The stock KDWs aren't much better. A tread wear of 400. BLARG!

Slap some 255 wide or 275 wide/220s (tread wear) and your next complaint will be that your car doesn't feel like it has any power. As you can barely break loose. HA HA HA.

Seriously though, get some Potenza RE050s (replaced the epic S03s) or Good Year F1-GSD3s for daily driving grip and weekend road course warriors.

Course they are much noisier and won't last as long but your car will love you for it AND you will look like a master.

get some nitto 555r drag radials, they should sell every sports car with em. they solved my traction problems, and i can still get sideways if i REALY want to.

Until you run into rain. You cannot safely run those in rain.

I run them year round and dont have any problems with rain. but I am a little more cautious because they are drag radials.

Don't take this the wrong way, but that's not smart. I've seen several people total their car running drag radials in the rain. They're not suitable for the rain and it's only a matter of time. They hydroplane way too easily.

Drive like you have a brain in the rain and they work just fine.

DR's solve the traction problem... until you run ALOT of power... then it's not safe to drive in the rain anyways.
