This would work perfectly if he was driving on superglue. Too much weight per cubic inch will cause the tire to spin, thus wider tires.

You answered the question earlier. You stated that the 10" tire has 50lbs of weight per sq inch, and the 5" tire has 100lbs of weight per square inch. That wider tire is more efficient because it can spread out the weight of the car more evenly, resulting in better traction.

Seeing as you're "done talking to a wall", I'm going to assume that you are done with this conversation, that we have proven that there is a legitimate reason for using wider tires, and I may now close this thread before it cascades out of control.
