My Mach 1 with the Tremec 3650 transmission is leaking fluid out of the top of the shifter! I took it to my dealer and told them it was leaking out the top - that the fluid was coming out from under the boot that fits over the top of the shifter, and therefore I didn't believe the problem had to do with the silicone seal between the shifter and the tranny. So when I get it back, what had they done? Removed the shifter and resealed it with silicone to the transmission. And of course it still leaks.
What could be causing this? Overfilled transmission maybe? Some fault in the shifter itself? I don't believe the shifter itself is servicable (I'd like to hear from you all if I am wrong about that), so if that is the culprit it seems the entire unit needs to be replaced.
