Was wanting to clarify a few things and hoping someone can help me out.:nice:
I have a trani cooler that I aquired from irrelivant souce. I want to install it, but I am not certain of the transmission lines to my radiator?
Is the bottom line on the radiator the return? This is what I am thinking...
So I am going to splice into that line and mount the cooler on the front of my radiator.
Now the cooler is about the size of a shoe box and I red to mount the cooler so that the hoses come out the top? Is this correct?
Lastly, filter in the line, I would want a filter after the cooler than also?

If someone could help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it!:hail2:

I have the condesor pulled already so the mounting part will be a breeze. Just wanted to make sure that I do it right the first time.
I do not have the couplings to mount the connection right into the radiator so I was just going to stub that end and use the hose and a clamp.

If you unscrew the intermediary fitting from the pipe thread fittin that goes into the radiator, you should be able to put a barb on the fitting in the rad.

I think on an AOD, the bottom line on the radiator is the one you splice into. When you disconnect it, you can double check this by starting the car for a tenth of a second and noting that fluid comes out of the radiator (if it comes out the line, you got the wrong line).

I put fittings on coolers so the inlet into the new cooler is on the bottom and the outlet is on top. Both fittings face the side (makes running lines around the side of the radiator without kinks easy).

If your cooler was brand new, I'd might put the aux filter in front of it. If the cooler is used, I'd put the filter in front of the trans (the line going from the aux cooler to the trans).

MHO - others' opinions will vary.

Good luck.

I think you have it done like I'd do, except that you have the fluid going into the top of the aux cooler and out the bottom.
I'm not sure that it matters but when I researched things (I've installed a couple coolers), it was recommended to have in=bottom and out=top for purging reasons. Does it really matter? I think not.

I'm curious - are you using a sandwich filter set-up (with an oil filter) or something like a Magnefine?

Looks good to me man - good luck!
