Will I need to run a tranny cooler if I upgrade to 4:10's with my Diablo tune? My friend told me that it will cause more friction on the parts and because of the rpm's being higher and such. So is it really recommended that I do just that? Thanks for any input :SNSign: .

you should run a tranny cooler anyways. and he is right. the faster the tranny spins the hotter it will get and the shorter its lifespan is.

You should run a tranny cooler even on a stock setup.

Should be able to get one for about $50.

It would be a good time to change the fluid also.

Good call. B&M makes a nice line of coolers. Pretty much any major brand will suffice though. I'd also recommend going with a plate style cooler over the traditional finned units. They're tougher and they'll dissipate heat better with the same dimensions.

I installed this one last summer when I also installed my Fluidyne Rad. A little pricier than the B&M but I was looking for something with these dimensions that could be mounted in the lower cowl opening.

That one looks nice. Where did you buy that one from? Which one do I order? The 16GVW or the 24gvw

I got the 24GVW, I don't think they make a 16 or at least they didn't when I got mine just 24, 30, and 40. Below is a ink to the seller I got it from on eBay. Just make sure before you purchase that your kit comes with a thermostat (that's the blue thing in the parts baggie above) as they offer the kit with or without it. When I first installed it I didn't install the thermostat since it was July and the trans never went over 160. And even though you want to keep the fluid cool you don't want it cold. I installed the themostat in Sept. in about 15 minutes and now the fluid warms and stays right at 180.
