tranny fluid levels................

Ite here, I need to change the fluid in my t5, its a borg-warner so what would you guys recommend for the fluid? One guy told me he put 10 weight in his t5 when he was racing it, another told me just to put atf fluid in thur, so what would it be?

approx 5.6 pints (or until fluid runs out filler hole on side of tranny) of mercon transmission fluid is recommended by ford...

Bill's right-on. Mercon is what is spec'd - why would we run something else?

ATF is a modern day snake oil.

Put it in your manual T5.

Put it in your power steering pump.

Use it to flush the oil system of sludge.

ATF. Just fill it with the fill plug out. When it leaks out of the fill plug, wait till it stopes then put the plug back in.

unbolt the shifter and pour it in thru there and like said above stop when it starts draining out of the fill hole on the side of the tranny

use ATF. Early T-5 took gear oil but they also used different bearings. Gear or engine oil in a later t-5 will starve the bearings of oil.

It takes 2.8 quarts
