Tranny goes into gear VERY hard?!?! Need help quick!
Well, I just put the motor that I rebuilt in tonight and it started right up and ran great. That's the good news.
The bad news is for some reason the tranny won't go into gear at all, or if it does it takes a lot of force. When trying to put it into reverse it grinds and if you force it, it will go into reverse. It has an adjustable cable (kinda old/beat up) and an aftermarket style quadrent, but no firewall adjuster. I've messed with the adjustment down by the clutch and as of right now it's adjusted as far as it will go to preload the clutch fork. I tried it about halfway adjusted first and so I figured adjusting it farther would fix it. Well it didn't. What's going on here?
Also, it didn't do this before removing motor. And BTW the flywheel was resurfaced so I'm sure that will make a bit of a difference. I've searched brefiely but couldn't find anything exactly answering my question.
