tranny grinding

when i shift my tranny normal everything is smooth but when i slam it into gear it will grind. clutch is still good its a motorsports. it will even do it if i push the clutch all the way down takign my time then slammin it into gear then letting the ch out like a 3 step process it will still do it. maybe need to change fluid?

time for a rebuild (if clutch is good). Syncronizers are shot and or shift forks are stretched a bit.

Yup, welcome to my world. my 5th gear synchro is shot, and it does exactly the same thing. I changed the fluid, and it helped a little for a while, but it just masks the real problem-the synchros.

Search on here- jrichker has a few posts with the T-5 service manual and the video from Hanlon motorsports that shows how to rebuild a T-5, very useful

As a matter of fact, that is my winter project as well.

Are you putting it into 5th gear or 4th before you put it into reverse? Otherwise it will almost always grind since 5th gear does not have a synchro.

i had the same prob with reverse then started goin from 5th to reverse works perfect everytime now.

Streached clutch cable and/or worn plastic quadrant. Unless recently replaced, I am almost sure this is your problem.

You might try some synthetic trans oil, like mobil or redline. It helped my old car alot.
