ok this isnt about my stang but i think you guys could help.. i just bought this lincoln conteniental knowing it has some sort of tranny problem.. but anyways when going about 35mph every once in a while all of a sudden it will make a thunk nosie and then jerk like something locks up but only last for about 2 sec.... but it is only when you slowing down when its downshifting then if you step on the gas when it does it ....it will jerk twice instead on once... help please

check your motor mounts, open your hood, and put your left foot on the brake, put your right foot on the gas and LIGHTLY hit the gas and watch the motor,if it jumps, they're bad.It will do it reverse too. This is common with those and the Taurus.

ok thanx i will try that.. the guy i bought it from said he thought the tranny was going so he didnt want it anymore and gave it to me for free... the thing just had a piantjob and the interior is all leader and the motor runs well except for that jerk.. which i though it was just missing a gear when downshifting
