Ive heard people say that Ford put a program in our cars that puts a split pause on the shift to 2nd gear to save T5's. Then I hear that they never did that and it was a rumor. Or ill hear that they only put that on 94-95 V8's. So what is it?
Not sure what you mean?
For manuals, the computer does pull timing right as you let off the throttle, as would occur during a shift. That is all I can think of.
But it would be every shift, not just second gear. And how would the computer know what gear the trany is in? There is no sensor of this kind on a T-5.

Someone mentioned it in a thread I made a few weeks ago. I would give it all shes got in 1st gear, and shift hard into 2nd, and it feels like Im barely giving it any throttle even though its floored. I cant chirp the tires lose in second if my life depneded on it . Someone mentioned that Ford did that on purpose to save T-5's from breaking. But my situation is beyond that, something is wrong. I understand a slight pause, but I have no power once i shift to second gear. I would shift from 1st around 5k rpm, and when I put it in 2nd, it feels like I shifted from 2,000 rpm and im trying to catch up in 2nd gear. I dont have that neck breaking feeling anymore from the hardshift from 1st-2nd.
Im going to a friends house that has a code scanner. See what the hell is up with this thing.
Maybe Clutch is going? I dont really know what it could be but my notch is pretty close to stock and I can spin 2nd for about 10-15 feet while leaving marks.
