ok i have a 01 cobra with the famed TR3650 i do not have the 1-2 grind, but i do have a problem with 3rd.. it grinds every single time i go into 3rd no matter what. i just go from 2nd to 4th...but anyway that trans is a lost cause and i dont want to pay to fix it only for it to f-up again in a few hundred miles.. so until ford decides to recall it or something like that, im stuck with this idea:

i was thinking of getting another tranny, IE: t45 3550 t56 or whatever i can afford. or whatever will work... i would love a t56 but $$$ is an issue...

my question is what will bolt up to my 3650 bellhousing? what all is involved in doing this? how much $$$??? i am clueless on this and i need some direction. all opinions would help or hell if anyone could tell me a fix for my 3rd gear grind id be happy as a pig in sh&#..

PLEASE HELP ME i cant take not having 3rd anymore!!
i have read the "official 3650 issues" thread and that just seems to be ppl like me complaining and no one knowing what to do so i thought i would ask outside of that...
thanks for the help.

How much millage do you have on your car ? Still under warranty ? Print the this out: http://forums.modulardepot.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32640

It replaces the synchros (explains your grinding) and changes the level of fluid used. This "should" do the trick. I suggest this before you go out and spend money on an entire new tranny + install.

If your not under warranty, and have brought your car under warranty in the past for this problem, be nice, you might get it done for free. Worth a try!

well i have 47k on her, so warranty work is out of the question... i have seen that tsb before i also read that someone had that done and it didnt help the problem...with my car being out of warranty, i will have to pay for this out of my pocket. any idea how much that is gonna cost me?
im going to call tremec in the a.m. and talk to them and see what they recomend as far as the fluid change only b/c i have heard so many ppl say so many diff. things...(dex 3, royal purple, redline... 3.8 qts, 4.0 qts.. blah blah.. ) its all as clear as mud to me...so im going to clairify it all tomorrow.

ill post it on here also to help clear that up for the rest of us as well!!!
