The oldest 2.3L with a T-5 was 1985.1984 SVO? It had a T5.Pro-Hawk said:The oldest 2.3L with a T-5 was 1985.

Def check out Stingers site, you should be fine if you can read and know how to use your head and your tools. I dont hear a lot of problems for the T5 to auto swap. I dont know about the 85 tranny into your 87...

Who knows with Ford its all ways something weird.ka0tyk said:dont put a SVO, or 5.0 T5 into your 2.3... the gear ratio's are different... find one from a 2.3 NA mustang...
i4power said:The TC and SVO had the same T-5. You won't want to use that one on your car because the gears are taller, which would make the car even slower, and a N/A 2,3 anyways.

Ash, did I miss something in all that I have read about a T-5 when did the SVO and N/A have a different T-5? The Non Wc was pre 85.5 and arent all T-5 WC post 85.5? Or am I wrong?
A 5.0l T-5 will work in a N/A 2.3L car ( pervided you do something about the imput shaft)but its a different gearing ratio. Thus you run a risk of it being a pain to drive. The same with a SVO gear box in a N.A 2.3L. This stuff is in that link I posted but I guess no one read any of it
