ok my t5 makes these noises.

The noticable one is 5th gear, when in 5th, it will make a rubbing kind of noise.
AND it happens at the same time my rearend whines. Which isnt all the time.

So when my rearend is whining, my 5th gear is whining also

doesnt look like you installed any top notch parts there. lol. the rear end whine is usally caused by a bad gear install.

if you have vibration as well, and it only happens at a certain rpm, it could be your driveshaft. i know i have an out-of balance one with my .55's and at high speeds the car shakes hardcore. when i let off the pedal in 5th gear it makes a rubbing sort of noise, and then again when i go to accelerate again. nothing when coasting or accelerating though.

One time i had the bolts backing out of driveshaft at the rear end. It had a rubbing kind of noise for a while, i didn't know what it was. Thought it was the tranny, then two fell out and when i let off the gas it felt like the whole damn car was coming apart (SHAKING!!!) I thought i had knocked a dent or something into my shaft....just my 2 cents.

well its the same as it was b4 and that was with the AOD driveshaft, i now have a t5 drive shaft under the car.

I think the rearend hums b/c the guy said he rebuilt it and said he made it extra tight so it always spins both or something.

the rearend only hums in OD at low rpms, with a load on the motor, once you get going faster and the motor isnt as strained then it goes away.
