I bought my 64 1/2 and it is was a 6 banger, but has a 302 in it now....anyway, it has an auto in there now, and I know it's been asked 100 times over, but how hard is it to do a 4 speed or a 5 speed (T 5 ) in there?

Putting a 4 or even a 5speed is a bolt in operation. I found the hardest part was finding the bell crank (z bar) and related linkages and the clutch pedal assembly.
If you use the correct Toploader, no mods necessary to the driveshaft. The combined length of the bell and transmission is the same as a C-4. Same trans X-member and mount for both.
I've heard you need to shorten your drive shaft depending on what bell housing you used (old or new)....which is also a very simple thing....drop it off at machine shop... "ok cut XX" off"...then just reinstall it i think.
I think it needs to be shortened if you go with a T5.
