Tranny trouble...it broke?

Second to third shift. Hit the limiter like I'd missed a shift but when I tried to pull it out of gear it was stuck. Pulled it around and finally freed it but it the car won't move. It will select each gear but it is not engaging. Sugggestion have been input or output shaft. Anyone have these symptoms and what was the problem?

did you hear anything snap when you hit 3rd? It may be an input or output shaft, possibly an exploded clutch disc. I'm assuming you have tension on your clutch cable, so that would rule a snapped cable out. I'm not sure if this is how you check for a snapped shaft, but I would put the car on level ground, jack up the rear/secure the front wheels, put the car in gear, then crawl under and see if i could spin the drive shaft. I'm not a mechanic though, maybe someone else has some input for you

No real noise other than the bounce off the rev limiter. I removed the little sight cover and looked but can't really see much. I did turn the rear wheels and the driveshaft turns whatever is still serving as a tranny so I don't thing the input shaft is broken. I'm leaning toward a shft fork since I reads that a broken 3-4 tends to allow the who shift rail to kind of fall apart...and the T45 is REAL susuptible to this.

I should have left that SRT-4 alone...but I had him...

I'm replacing my fubar'd T-45 with a TKO-500. Good transmission and it's cheaper and much lighter than a T-56.

I think the TKO500 replaced the 3550. Clay has one but I don't have the 1400 he wants for everything. I can build my T45 for about 400.
