Guys..I got a 94 cobra with 50K miles on the clock....I am getting to much tranny whine when I get a decent acceleration....It sounds like a S/C whine almost coming from under my 5spd tranny box...what could it be?
i think this is normal is it? i know my 95 cobra does it. I think everyones 3rd gear whines the most, but ill notice now in 2nd. And ever since my short shifter install its even louder since i dont have that extra thing that the stock shifter has to quiet it down.

Yea I agree deffinetly loudere when I had my pro5.0 short shifter installed. The guy I had do it HATES FORDS...Namely mustangs. So I figured he didnt do it right on purpose. I found out he hated them after I got the work done. But 3rd gear deffinetly whines alot! So I guess its normal! Thanx bro
Mine sounds like a space ship taking off....Im guessing it has something to do with the gears being worn inside the trans. I believe the only change they did make the new quiet generation of superchargers is flycut the gears in them. I just chaulk it up to the 129k brutal miles that its been put through. Mine didn't whine at all when I bought the car at 73k....took me 50k miles to get it the way it is now.
If you wanna quiet it some...pull the boot and "insulate" around the tranny/shifter...Mine made more noise than I liked...i took an old towel and ripped it in 1/2....wrapped and filled in around there...Blam...quiet..
Sounds cheesy, but you'll be amazed how much it deadens and muffles the whine your hearing...
