HI where can i find a cheap tremeck T-56, I was thinking of pulling it off a salvaged car but i have no clue on what car it comes in i really need this tranny but i only have about 800 to spend on it........

Err, don't think you're going to get one then, The only OEM T56 that will work behind a small block Ford is the "Viper" version. Yes, some T56's were in late model Cobras an more commonly Camaros/Firebirds/Corvettes but they are very different. These other T56's are not at all adaptable as far as I know. The aftermarket T56's for sale for use in older Fords are also all the "Viper" version. The cheapest version of the T56 would be a junkyard Camaro transmission. The last one of these I personally saw sold for $1200. And it didn't look all that great.

Best of luck finding a junkyard Viper. You'd still pay at least 1500 for the trans if you did. Take that $800 and look for a Tremec 3550. You CAN get them non-blown-up for that.
