trans fluid help

I am changing out my shifter so I decided to drain the tranny fluid. I am not sure how much fluid to put in I have heard 3.7. I am doing this from the top should I see any fluid in the part where the shifter goes after putting in the trans fluid/ I am using royal purple synchro. I am a little stress right now since I have never done this.

The owners manual says 3.8.. I seem to be recalling something about only doing 3.2 though. Hopefully somebody will chime in about this. My brain isn't functioning correctly again with Christmas just ending.

this is what you do. buy 4 quarts of fluid, i use Mobil 1 ATF, but thats me. take out the fill plug and then take out the drain plug (taking out the fill plug lets the fluid drain better). put the drain plug back in, but leave the fill plug out. drop in fluid from the top until fluid drips out of the fill plug. then put the fill plug back in.
