Trans noise??

After installing my MGW shifter I noticed more tranmission noise in the car. It kind of sounds like it did when I had the trim around the shifter off with the stock shifter. I was wanting to know if this is normal or if my trans or shifter is not right. It is kind of a growl sound. It is not consistant. Sometimes it is louder than others. What do you guys think?

Mine too only in 5th gear. If I hold the shifter handle it quiets down some though. Don't really know why it does that.

just transfferance of noise. same with me and my steeda. it changes at RPMs and gear... just ignore it...

This is normal behavior. Some people make a sound deadening gasket. Do a search for how to make one.

The aftermarket shifters don't have the sound deadening material that the stockers do. There are the rubber grommets between the shifter handle and the shifter itself and the gaskets between the ****er and tranny on stock pieces. You can just fashion a rubber gasket to fit in between the shifter and the tranny if the noise is bothersome.

Thanks for the comments. I feel better about the noise. It is hard to believe the crappy stock shifter had any sound deadening material in it.
