i recently bought a transgo HP shift kit for the AOD and put it in this past weekend. which for anyone thinkin about this kit i strongly reccomend it, it absolutely rips 2nd when im all over it. so many thanx to those of you who told me to do that.

ok, heres the thing though. ive probably put maybe 4-5 miles on it, just makin sure everything was ok, and so far it is. BUT when i did this, sent my friend to the parts store for filter and fluid, he came back with it, but the fluid was type f. well durrr if my dumbass didnt throw it in there not thinkin. so i need to know, how can i flush this stuff out? never had to do it and i dont feel like paying 150 for a flush (will if i have to though)

and im supposed to put mercon III or IV in it, correct?

hey i dont want to get off subject but make sure your tv cables ajusted right it might feel good and still be wrong the previos owner to my car thought he knew what he was doing and adjusted it him self with out the special tool and well my car will be coming out the tranny shop tommorow

I've been thinking about getting this kit, but I'm kinda retarded when it comes to trannys. Is it hard to install the kit?........also, this may sound really stupid, will it enhance my take-off at all? (still can't peel out without power stalling) Didn't mean to try and steal your thread man...any info is appreciated.

no its not a hard kit to install. instructions are very straight foward. kit just requires you to change the springs and whatnot on a few of the valves. and you have to do a little drilling in the valve body plate and 2 holes in the valve body. i though the hardest part of it was actually gettin the valves out.

im scared of workin on auto trannies, and i was surprised at how easy things went.

If youve never worked on a tranny, then yes,its tricky. They give you video instructions, but its time consuming. When ordering a kit, make sure you tell them your gear size, they make different kits for different gear sizes.( rear end gears)

OK...but everthing I need comes with the kit, right? I'm buying off the Internet and I don't want any suprise purchases that I'll need.
Also, I was thinking about a torque converter as my next "go fast goody", but my funds are kinda limited....how big of a stall should I get? and does anyone know how B&M's converters work?......I found some in a JC whitney catalog for like $110 with anywhere from 2200-3000 stall. Thanks in advance.

Stay away from those torque converters. Torque converters are really one part that you get what you pay for. I recommend Edge racing converters. Getting converters from a catalog isnt the best. Call Edge and talk to Andre, he'll ask you about your car, answer any questions and work with you to give you the converter that suits your car and needs. Catalogs dont do that.

well this kit pretty much favored 3.73s in all the talk, which is what i have...so i figured it was all good.

as for the tricky thing, man i wish i could agree...but i can honestly say that ive never cracked an auto open. bout the most extensive thing i had done before that was change the filter. maybe im just a quick learner  like my neighbor said, "a child could understand those directions" and i didnt get the video in mine...i think i got shafted.

i had a B&M conv, well i still do. its a 2400 holeshot. it stalled around 2k when my motor was stock, it doesnt stall anymore. after the cam and all the goodies it just went away. the truck(this is a bronco 2 btw) actually pushes itself at the line now. i just cant seem to pay that much for a new conv especially when the one thing i hate to do more than anything is to have to seperate the trans from the motor. i wish i could have one built for a decent price or find one that will stall a little for a small price.....lol i know quit dreamin.

Dude, dont mess with B&M converters :notnice: Like someone else said, when it comes to converters, you get what you pay for!! And DO NOT get a JCWhitney conv.Precision Ind.is the best, but there 700 beans.Get an edge, there alot cheaper ( around 400) and they are very good converters from what I hear.If your motor is pretty much stock thats what you want a 2400 stall speed :nice: My converter is the best mod I did so far,it really wakes the motor up,you will love it. I also got a trans go shift kit.But when I had it put in,I couldnt hold it in 3rd gear past 95mph,,it would go into OD even with the shifter in the D position!! I called the company up and they said it was because that kit was made for stock gears up to 355's.I had 373's!! So I had to switch the gov. and spring for the 3-4 shift with the stock ones,,now its fine!!( If you get a cheap conv. it wont last very long, and you might do damage to your tranny!!)

well the b&m is in the truck and its been there for a while. motor is pretty far from stock. heads are about the only thing i havent done. well except im not running any forced induction.

ok guys, more detail on this shift kit for different rear gears thing...............never heard of this..........whats the difference? i have been going to buy one of these kits in the near future, i have seen them on e-bay but doubt they know anything about this different kit for different rear end ratio thing. is this in the instructions or is it actually a different kit with different parts??????
