Hello all!
New member here. I've browsed through the site before taking in information, but am now in need of advice pertaining to my 93 5.0 LX, and who better to ask than an entire community of Mustang lovers?!
The problem started weeks ago, when at a light or in traffic, the engine would sort of "stumble" and run rough, sometimes stall (especially when the A/C was on). Once it happened, it would keep doing it at idle until I shut the car off and restarted it, only to start doing it again at the next long idling session.
I have checked for vacuum leaks, replaced cap/rotor, plugs/wires, checked elec. connectors, removed the IAC and cleaned it, and finally, bought a cheap OBD I scanner to try to retrieve engine codes, ( I have never gotten a Check Engine Light).
The codes that I got were: 14 and 19. According to the book that came w/the scanner and the scanner code chart I found here on this site, 14 pertains to the profile ignition pick up and 19 is either erratic idle or CID sensor problem.
My question is this: Could a bad pickup coil in the dist. be the cause of all this? If so, how come it only happens at idle, (runs great going down the highway)? I'm hoping someone has come across this before and could save me from my next step: new EGR, IAC, O2 sensors, Distributor, TFI module, etc...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!--
