I have a '66 coupe with a 289 and a C4. When I bought the car, it had no transmission kick down cable. I have got by the past couple of months using a piece of tie wire cut to the right length. I just received a new cable from NPD, but I can't seem to figure out how it mounts to the throttle. On the adjustable end of the cable, is there some type of C-clip that fastens it to the throttle? Also, the cable (10" long) seems to be too long. If I wedge the gas pedal to the floor, there doesn't seem to be enough adjustment threads to make the transmission kick down engage. Maybe the pedal assembly has somehow been bent too far back. I can deal with the length issue, but I was really curious how the thing is supposed to fasten to pedal.
